During the photo session with Alhjed and Alhrich, I still managed to get some snapshots of the location of the shoot. It is more on detailed shots. MAGSINGAL, ILOCOS SUR IN FOCUS

A DAY WITH THE TWINS

I love taking portraits. It's amazing how you can capture emotions on your camera. And kids? I definitely love to take their photos. Twins? That's double the fun.

We had to travel to Ilocos Sur for Alhjed and Alhrich's pre-birthday photo shoot. Aside from almost three hours bus ride, it was raining when we arrived at our destination. Problem kicked in. We have to find a place where we can do the photo ops. Sitting there, i was already thinking about indoor shoot as the only option. And here are some of the shots taken inside the house.

And then, Mr. Sun came out. We immediately went to the originally planned location for the shoot. Thanks goodness, I was able to get amazing shots of the twins. Here are some of my personal favorites.

HANGING BEAUTY

Early morning beauty hanging in front of the door. Unnoticeable in everyday life but when you stop and just start staring at nothingness, you will find extraordinary views that would awe you. I'm just glad I had my camera with me.

THE SCOUT

My friends' kid is already a twikler scout. Their activity may be some kind of a chaotic one but I can feel the excitement of parents and relatives. Yeah, I had fun shooting kids today.

WORN OUT

I was walking around when I saw this. The colors and the patterns caught my attention. Taken at 1/1600s at f5.6 ISO 800 at 200mm using a 70-200mm f2.8 lens

"LIGHT HORIZONS"

I woke up early and took my camera with me. An interesting flash of light caught my eyes. I tried to find the source of it and this is what I've got.

Dance Like There's No One Watching

A dancer doesn't seem to care and notice that thousands of people are watching their performance during the Grand Opening Parade of Panagbenga 2012, the famous flower festival of Baguio City.

When Boredom Strikes

My sister and I were not doing anything so i decided to take photos of her. The actual shoot is actually shorter than the preparation of the lighting setup. And to top it all, she asked for a snack in exchange. I really can't decide which way to go on post-processing so i end up with two edits. (yeah, I know my blog title says one photo a day...It is one photo though, just two edits)

(Black and white version with a little split toning)

lost in paradise

(photo taken at Camp John Hay, Baguio City. 1/100s at f4.0, ISO 800 at  78mm using Sigma 70-200mm f2.8)
It is very interesting to note that when we are focused on what we are doing, as if there's no other world except our ours. This photo was taken during one of the photo walks that I attended. Camp John Hay Eco-trail is really a heaven for photographers.

my new watermark

I have been worrying about my watermark since the day i decided to concentrate on my photography. many websites offer you sample watermarks but definitely you want to create you own. This is simply because you want it to have your personal touch and that will give you joy and pride. Of course, many photo editing software can generate watermarks but believe me, you would still want something to call your own. And without further adieu, here is my new watermark.

Sunday walk

Last Sunday, February 5, 2012, together with fellow members of the Baguio Photographers Club, we went out for a walk at Camp John Hay Eco-trail. Here are some of the pictures i captured.

"FLOWER POWER". I was mesmerized by these flowers. One is blooming and the other one is getting ready to bloom. 1/100s at f7.1, ISO 800 at 200mm (Sigma 70-200mm)

"CURLY FERN".  1/200s at f8, ISO 400 at 200mm (Sigma 70-200mm)

"I WAS A PINE TREE".  This is what's left of a pine tree. i just love the colors. 1/320s at f4, ISO 400 at 160mm (Sigma 70-200mm)

"FOOT BRIDGE". A wooden foot bridge in the middle of the forest. 1/40s at f9, ISO 400 at 70mm (Sigma 70-200mm). Yes, I know shutter speed is too low and against the rule of thumb :)
